Did you know that Black women only make up an estimated 3% of the technology workforce in the United States?
At Black Girls Tech Too (BGT2), we are committed to increasing the presence of Black women and other underrepresented people in technology through engaging youth mentorship and hands-on education. Our mission is to unlock the potential of Metro-Detroit’s youth by offering technical workshops that introduce them to a wide range of STEM careers. By partnering with schools, community centers, and libraries, we bring careers in Cybersecurity, Software Development, Health IT, and more to life. These experiences help ensure that every young person has the opportunity to explore their interests and develop their talents in technology. Who are we
Our Board of Directors, composed of five accomplished Black women, leads with purpose and pride in their Detroit roots. They are dedicated to expanding access to technology education and career pathways for youth across the city. Through mentorship, community engagement, and advocacy, they help cultivate the next generation of innovators while ensuring that Detroit’s talent and creativity continue to shape the future of technology.

Youth Outreach
BGT2 provides outreach services for the youth of Detroit and its metropolitan areas. This includes in-person and virtual technical and financial literacy workshops.

Mentorship & Career Coaching
We are dedicated to empowering black girls by offering career coaching and mentorship tailored to their unique interests within the STEM fields. Our mission is to help young women discover and pursue careers that not only align with their passions but also harness their full potential. Through personalized guidance and support, we strive to break down barriers and create opportunities for our mentees to thrive.
